Yeah, I love it when the "nice guy" wins out (that is if you can call any of the Sacketts nice guys, maybe good guys is better) Yeah and it seams like he reinvented the quote unquote strong silent type of hero. and the damsel in distress, hmm maybe I should make a new trip to the library..

A friend of mine left me a stack of those Louie Lamour novels. Excellent westerns!! And I bet I am spelling his name incorrectly, too.

LOL! I was going to check on the spelling, but I decided (pragmatically), "What's the use? I know who she's talking about!"

I think he is well known as an excellent writer and among those who were inspired by him is our own dear J.R.R Tolkien, so I would say George MacDonald is among my favorite classics =D some of my favorites of his are ones that I have just finished reading
The Curate's Awakening The Lady's Confession
and the one I am currently reading,
The Baron's Apprenticeship
C.S. Lewis said that he once said of George MacDonald " I regard him as my master" In which I believe he meant in an respectful author to author approach. I can say that one of my most favorite things about George MacDonald his is complete love and adoration of the Lord. I love the way he often describes The Lord's love and compassion for his children, very few authors, I have found, have an understand of our Lord like this man did =) I highly recommend him as a good read
p.s. He had some wonderful fantasy novels as well, for those who aren't really into every day life reading, but prefer the excitement of the "other worlds"

I'm wasn't familiar with George MacDonald, so I did a little research. He was held in high esteem by C.S. Lewis. His books look interesting. I was especially interested in Phantastes. I'll have to check out your suggestion!
I'm still trying to finish Asimov's Robot Novels...

I don't think I am familiar with him. I will check him out! It will be cool to 'discover' another author to like!
Yeah, I knew you knew who I was talking about, but you could have spell checked me! Lol! I was too lazy to even go back a couple posts to where it was spelled correctly! Shame on me!
I have been staying away from using the internet at work, so I have been here even less. I did peruse the rules and such for my job and it doesn't ban me from the internet, but it discourages it interfering with your work. That is good to know, but these guys stay logged in all shift and for me, I might sign on during my half hour dinner break, but if I have something to take care of during my break, then I won't even do that much. I gotta do what is comfortable for me.

I agree completely (and understand). When something becomes a chore, there's no fun left in it. Come in when you can, Rosie.
I've been reading this month's Goldmine magazine (they write about old rock n roll) and this month's Reader's Digest. (Robot novels tonight though).

I love my Gap!! <3!!
I have to say that I am amazed at how much my coworkers abuse the ability to use the internet. I would log on hours into my shift and usually when my break came around, however, some of these guys log onto facebook like they log onto the programs they are supposed to for the job! One girl, and I could not believe my eyes, even started reading posts on her facebook page instead of looking at the alarm queue and starting to work on what was on the screen! That is when I unlogged my phone from the system and took a bathroom break. It was already eight twenty five and she actually was supposed to start at eight!
Shame!
But I like my job and what I do.
I am still in Wuthering Heights!! Haha!!

Aye, it got bad at school as well. Finally, the computer guys put a smart filter on the computers, and I can barely get what I need, so I brought my own laptop in with a 3G connection for the times I need the computer (I tried looking up spiders once, and was told that the smart filter disallowed it because some evil group worshiped spiders).
About to finish the Asimov Robot Novels.
